Culinary Arts students participate in two businesses - Julia's - a restaurant open to the public, and a separate catering business. Students study units in food and kitchen safety, commercial baking, advanced cooking techniques, food presentation, food service and sanitation.
SST’s Culinary Arts teaching kitchen is among the best in the state and includes all of the same stations and equipment found in large commercial restaurants including: electric and gas convection ovens, steam jacketed kettles, pressurized steamers, a gas-fired deck oven, tilt skillet and much more.
Culinary Arts students compete in SkillsUSA local and national competitions, which helps to build leadership and professional skills. SST hosts the annual New Hampshire Dining and Hot Foods competitions on our campus in Exeter. College credit is available through Running Start, and many students choose to continue their education at highly-respected culinary arts colleges throughout the U.S.
