The SST Future Search Steering Committee
Vision Statement-1999

The Seacoast School of Technology is esteemed throughout the region because of its superior programs and reputation of success in preparing students for postsecondary education or vocations of their choice.

SST Encourages Non-Traditional Career Choices

All SST programs and classes are open to both females and males. The staff at SST encourages all students to pursue non-traditional careers to meet the increasing demand for female automotive and electronics technicians and male child care and health providers. More and more people are discovering non-traditional careers to be rewarding, fulfilling and challenging. All students should select their SST program based on their interests, skills, and personal goals regardless of gender.

SST's programs are superior because they:

  • Are academically rigorous and prepare students for post secondary educational and employment opportunities.
  • Provide opportunities for students to participate in on-site learning within businesses and other community organizations.
  • Provide access to well-endowed, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
  • Utilize flexible scheduling to accommodate a diverse student population.

SST's reputation for success is due to:

  • The high number of students who become successful in their careers.
  • The high number of employers who seek to employ SST graduates.
  • The high number of graduates who report satisfaction with the program on exit surveys and on one-year follow-up questionnaires.
