SST Admissions Procedure

All Juniors and Seniors from the seven participating high schools are eligible to attend SST. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible to enroll in Biotechnology. Students in grades 9-12 are eligible to enroll in Pre-Engineering. Students who have completed one year of high school are eligible to enroll in Technology Careers. Applications are available at home high school guidance offices in January or from the SST Student Services Office. Applications and all other enrollment requirements must be completed before placement in all SST programs.

SST makes its initial program assignments in March. Students will be notified by mail of their acceptance to a program or position on a waiting list in high demand programs. Every effort is made to place students in their first-choice program. After the initial round of program placements, all further course assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. As part of the enrollment procedure, accepted students must schedule and attend a meeting at SST before their first day of class. Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Program availability in Year II is limited and acceptance to/completionn of a Year I program does not guarantee placement in the second year of a program.

SST Encourages Non-Traditional Career Choices

All SST programs and classes are open to both females and males. The staff at SST encourages all students to pursue non-traditional careers to meet the increasing demand for female automotive and electronics technicians and male child care and health providers. More and more people are discovering non-traditional careers to be rewarding, fulfilling and challenging. All students should select their SST program based on their interests, skills, and personal goals regardless of gender.

Earn College Credit - Project Running Start

Project Running Start is offered in partnership with the New Hampshire Community Technical College System. This program encourages SST students to seek a higher education and graduate from high school with a college transcript of earned credits. Students enrolled in Animal & Plant Science, Automotive Technologies, Biotechnology, Computer Programming, Culinary Arts, Digital Communications, Early Childhood Education, Health Sciences & Technologies, Marketing Education and Pre-Engineering are eligible to earn and transfer college credits with a significant reduction in tuition. Other college credit agreements are also in place with a variety of local colleges.
