Learn From the Ground Up!

Students interested in Building Construction Technologies will learn skills in a variety of areas including carpentry, blueprint reading, surveying, hand and power tool instruction, and safety procedures. The program will also include an introduction to plumbing, masonry, and electrical careers. Students will construct small building projects at SST and also work on a variety of construction/renovation projects in our local communities. Skills taught in this program include framing and remodeling, estimating, materials usage and installation, staging set-up and safety, basic electrical installation, plumbing fabrication and repair, and basic masonry techniques.

SkillsUSA at SST

The students enrolled in this class are encouraged to join the SST Chapter of SkillsUSA, a national CTSO that sponsors local, state and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills; as well as social and community service activities.
