What is DECA?
DECA is a co-curricular, student-centered organization specifically designed to provide
activities that will motivate secondary/postsecondary students to learn marketing, management
and entrepreneurial competencies that will prepare them to become skilled, employable workers
in the field of marketing.
SST/DECA Highlights-2007
The DECA State Career Development Conference was held in March, 2007 in Nashua, NH. Sixteen
SST students, along with 480 other DECA members from around the state, were in attendance.

SST/DECA Highlights-2005
Twelve SST Marketing Education student attended the DECA
State Career Development Conference and won numerous awards and recognitions. This year's
DECA Conference brought together over 300 students from 20 New Hampshire High Schools.Taking the
top award statewide in Apparel and Accessories Management was senior Nicole Messina from
Epping. SST and Exeter High School junior Leah Rice was elected to the DECA
State Officer Leadership Team. Both students are now eligible to represent New Hampshire at
the International DECA Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California in May.

SST/DECA Highlights-2004
The SST Chapter of DECA participated in the DECA State Career Development Conference in Nashua
Feb.3-5, 2004, at the Sheraton Tara. The DECA State conference brings together over 300 DECA members
from over 20 NH High School chapters to compete in a variety of Marketing related activities. Winners
qualify to attend and compete against the nations best in Nashville, TN in May at the International
Career Development Conference.
Representing SST this year were Stephanie Bryan, Nicole Chase, Krystle Colella, Jill Dancewicz,
Laurie Farnham, Andrie Iverson, Kristen Martel, Nicole Messina, Jenica Mills, Anna Robinson,
Jessie Spence, Jessica Teza and Chrissy Vignola.
Two of the SST competitors finished as statewide winners; Nicole Messina finished second overall
in Apparel and Accessories Management and Nicole Chase finished third overall in Full Serve Restaurant Management.

SST/DECA Highlights-2003
On March 5, 2003 the Seacoast School of Technology Chapter of DECA went to their State Career Development Conference
in Nashua, NH. They participated in several different areas of Marketing including Advertising, Public Relations, Food Marketing,
Restaurant Management, Retail Merchandising, Apparel and Accessories, Vehicle Marketing and Business Service Marketing.
The members competed in team and individual events.
The following students participated at this conference: Katlynn Poulin, Vicki Smith, Nicholas Fontaine, Jesse Spence,
Kyle Jennings, Shannon Booth, Laurie Farnham, Joshua Piotrowski, Krystle Colella, Michael Jones, Pat Gillis, Joshua Elliott,
Nicole Stockel, Jillian Dancewicz, Cassandra Harvey and Jeffery McGaw.
Nick Fontaine was the big winner for the Chapter, finishing 3rd overall in the state in Food Marketing. The other medal
winner this year was Vicki Smith, also in Food Marketing. Certificate of Competency winners included:
