FCCLA Spring Leadership Conference 2007

     Nineteen FCCLA members from the Early Childhood Program attended the 2007 Spring Leadership Conference at the Grand Summit at Attitash on April 11-13. In addition, five Alumni members from the chapter attended as judges. They were: Alyssa Hathaway, Jenna Avery, Ryan O'Day, Patrick Veilleux and Bill Walsh.
     The chapter's voting delegate was Jill Schrempf (EXE). Working as STAR event runners were Chelsea Elliott(EXE) and Jesse McManus (NEW).
     In the Chapter Service event, earning first place, a gold medal and qualifying for national competition in Anaheim, California in July, are Chandra Noyes (EXE) and Amanda Schena (EXE).
     In the Chapter Showcase event, earning first place, a gold medal and qualifying for national competition are Jessica Bernard (RAY) and Emily Rowe (EXE).
     In the Applied Tehcnology event (thank you Mr. Bruno and Mr. Sinden), earning first place, a gold medal and qualifying for nationals are Heather Hewlett(WINN) and Kaitlin Smith (EXE).
     In the Storytelling event, earning silver medal are Natalie Fosher (EXE) and Annalisa Nardone (EXE).
     In the Illustrated Talk event, earning first place, a gold medal and qualifying for national competition is Karah Lothian (SAN).
     In the Interpersonal Communicatons Event, earning first place, a gold medal and qualifying for nationals is Samantha Sullivan (WINN).
     In the Early Childhood event, earning first place, a bronze medal and qualifying for nationals is Chelsea Durell (EXE).
     In the Job Interview event, earning a silver medal, second place and a $500.00 scholarship to Johnson and Wales University is Diana Eaton (SAN).
     In the State Display event, earning a silver medal is Angela Strickland (SAN).      In the Focus on Children event, earning second place, and a silver medal is Erin Copeland (EXE), Natasha Dore(EPP) and Sarah Faria (EXE).

     Congratulations to all participants and a BIG thank you to the chapter members who supported the participants by staying at SST and taking care of the children. We couldn't have done it without them!

2006 FCCLA Spring Conference Highlights

Twenty students from the Early Childhood Education program at the Seacoast School of Technology attended the annual NH FCCLA State Conference in Bartlett recently and the group came home with many team and individual honors. The SST students presented, through competitive events and displays, a wide variety of educational and community service projects that earned them these awards. SST FCCLA Chapter advisors are Early Childhood Education teachers Carla Ranks, Stacey Jordan, and Janel Holmes.

Individual and team winners include:

  • Early Childhood Education - (1st in State) Chelsea Berube
  • Chapter Showcase - (1st Place) Kayla Puchlopek and Kelly Winget
  • National Programs in Action - (1st Place) Sarah Cranor, Nikole St. Laurent and Christopher Toomire
  • Chapter Service - (1st Place) Kelsey Bird, Diana Eaton and Missy McElreavy
  • Storytelling - (1st Place) Chelsea Durell
  • Job Interview - (2nd Place) Brianna Fowler
  • Chapter Display - (2nd Place)Heather DeRoo, Bill Dow and Amanda Shattuck
  • Focus on Children - (3rd Place)Jessica Bernard, Ashley Ferris and Elise Morgan

FCCLA member Natalie Fosher represented the SST Chapter as the voting delegate. Jessica Bernard, Kelsey Bird, Elise Morgan, Molly Bagley, Nikole St. Laurent and Brianna Fowler assisted with FCCLA Conference registration. SST Alumni members Ryan O’Day and Patrick Veilleux served as judges for the FCCLA proficiency events and a special FCCLA Honorary Membership was presented to Langdon Plumer. Mr. Plumer is the former Principal of the Seacoast School of Technology and currently is the New Hampshire Coordinator for the state’s Career & Technical Student Organizations.

2005 FCCLA Spring Conference Highlights

Eighteen students from Early Childhood Education attended the annual NH FCCLA State Conference at the Grand Summit in Bartlett recently and the group came home with the traveling trophy as the best overall chapter in New Hampshire. The students presented, through competitive events and displays, a wide variety of educational and community service projects that earned the Early Childhood Education program this prestigious honor.

Individual and team winners include:

  • Chapter Showcase - (Gold) Kate Mottram and Angelina Visconte
  • Focus on Children - (Gold) Kayla Puchlopek and Kelly Winget
  • Award of Excellence - (Gold) Richard Gagnier, Kate Mottram, and Angelina Visconte
  • State Display - (Silver) Richard Gagnier, Ryan O' Day and Patrick Veilleux
  • Interpersonal Communications - (Silver) Alyssa Desrosiers, Kara Hutchinson, and Renee Roy
  • Illustrated Talk - (Silver)Justine Eldridge and Tekara Stevens
  • Chapter Service Display - (Silver)Joe Amorino, Ashley Veilleux and Alyssa Young
  • Early Childhood - (Silver)Chelsea Berube

Chris Toomire and Bill Dow assisted with the Entrepreneurship and Interpersonal Communications events and Chapter President Patrick Veilleux served as a voting delegate for the third year in a row. First place and gold medal winners qualify for the FCCLA Nationals in Chicago in July.
