Early Childhood Education
The Early Childhood Education program prepares students for a career working with children.  The curriculum combines classroom work on developmental theories for children ages 0-6, with hands-on experience in SST's on-site preschool.

SST Early Childhood Education students serve as assistant teachers in the Wright Start Preschool, where they help young children grow and develop by managing all aspects of the preschool program.  SST students work with the parents of the preschoolers, participate in job shadow and internship activities, and volunteer in the community on a number of projects that affect children of all ages.

Early Childhood Education students participate in the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) organization, which helps to build leadership and professional skills.

College credit is available through Running Start, and many graduates go on to attend 4-year and 2-year colleges to earn teaching and teaching assistant certificates at all educational levels.
