The Seacoast School of Technology is built upon the philosophy that students learn best when they have the opportunity to try things for themselves. Not surprisingly, internships are a major component of the SST learning experience.
Some SST programs have internships built into the curriculum and require that all students find and complete an outside learning experience.
Other programs provide optional internship opportunities, sometimes over the summer, in addition to the traditional curriculum being offered.
To help prepare students to search for and apply for internships, all SST students are required to complete a portfolio prior to receiving their certificate of completion. The portfolio includes a resume and credentials that document the professional skills, awards, certifications and other accomplishments from their time at SST.
Ultimately, the goal of both outside internships and the portfolio is to make our students more attractive and prepared candidates for both college and the workplace.
