Skills for a lifetime!

The Welding Technologies program gives students the opportunity to explore and practice the various skills needed to have a successful career in the welding industry. Safe working procedures, work ethics, and cooperative work attitudes and techniques will be emphasized. The curriculum includes skill development in arc and gas welding, as well as oxy-acytelene welding and cutting, plasma arc cutting, brazing and soldering techniques. Students will also study basic metallurgy and blueprint reading. Year II students will focus on advanced welding skills with more types of metals and in a variety of positions. Students will perform actual jobs of fabrication and repair. Students completing this program will be eligible to be certified in GMAW (MIG), SMAW (Stick) and GTAW (TIG) welding.
